A regular taxi company will take your booking, but it will then be put out on their dispatch system up to one hour before the pickup time, even if you have booked your journey months in advance. This means they are relying on a driver and appropriate vehicle for your needs to be available nearby to carry out the booking. What if a driver in the appropriate vehicle is not available at say 2am? You have no other choice but to wait beyond your requested pickup time and hope you still make it to the airport on time, or frantically call around to other companies hoping they can help you. The reason we know this is because we have been called on a few occasions from people in this exact situation.
In addition, there is very little control on driver hours with regular taxi companies. Taxi drivers in Cardiff work on a self-employed basis and control what hours they sign on and off. They could have been working for any number of hours prior to your long-distance airport booking being dispatched to them. Would you feel comfortable knowing your driver had been out working for maybe 6 hours (maybe more) prior to then picking you up to take you from Cardiff to Heathrow airport?

We will only confirm your booking after checking we have availability of a driver and the appropriate vehicle for your needs and requested service level. This then allows the driver to know their schedule well in advance, get adequate rest, prepare themselves for the long-distance journey and most importantly arrive at your requested pick-up time.
We take safety seriously and never overwork our drivers; therefore, we would never allocate a driver more than one long distance transfer in a 24-hour period. We would rather turn down a request than compromise on safety.

We are based in Cardiff and hold a Cardiff private hire operators license to provide insured private hire journeys. In this digital online era, you will find many companies claiming to be Cardiff companies. However, they are not based in Cardiff and sometimes not even in the UK! Therefore, they do not hold the appropriate licenses or have the local knowledge that we do. Many of them are also just comparison sites that don’t even own any vehicles.
We have heard from many who have been let down by these companies, as they are happy to advertise very low rates, take your money, and only then see if they can find someone to complete your booking. Due to desperation, they then turn a blind eye to the compliance checks they should be carrying out on drivers and vehicles and can end up facilitating unlicensed and/or uninsured journeys.
If your flight lands later than 2 hours or more beyond the original scheduled arrival time, then waiting charges will be applicable of £5 (Standard Class) or £10 (Executive Class) for each additional 15 minutes the passenger is late.
If the flight has been cancelled by the airline within 24 hours of the original scheduled arrival time you will be obligated to honour 100% of the agreed fee payable. In this situation, we will try our best to make alternative arrangements should you be placed on a replacement flight; however, this will be subject to our availability, and we reserve the right to apply an additional charge under these circumstances.
We will confirm your driver details to you 3 days before your journey through our booking system. If you make a booking that is due in less than 3 days’ time then you will receive your driver details shortly after we have confirmed the booking.
